Siding

There are many types and colors of siding you can choose from. There are a few different types of materials used to make siding also. When considering new siding for your home you must first consider what you are looking to do and what your budget is. If you are looking to spruce up your home for resale or it’s a rental property you can get away with less expensive siding. The most economical would be beveled white vinyl siding. I’m sure there are different colors that cost the same but to be sure let’s just call it white.

There are three main configurations with different variations of each. You have beveled, dutch-lap and shakes. Beveled and dutch-lap are plank types. Where they are manufactured in long lengths and installed horizontally on your home. Shakes are just shingles were they are applied to your home singularly or modularly depending on the manufacturer. Both plank and shake types of siding can be made with different materials like wood, vinyl and composite.

Vinyl siding is considered to be maintenance free where as wood siding needs a fresh coat of sealer every couple of years. Vinyl might still need to be washed every so often. It all boils down to what you like, how much you have to spend and how much can you afford. If you need a competitive price on your siding job let us know.
